No. 4 - Ako's Magical Gaming Room
Not just a battlestation, but a gaming room with special effects.
A few words…
Dear readers, thank you so much for your interest and special thanks to everybody that takes part in this project. I am overwhelmed by the support of you guys and strongly convinced to keep going. As there are already almost 50 battlestation issues in preparation right now and we even inspired a copy-cat project we will up the ante and publish 2 issues per week from now on.
Thank you all and on to issue No. 4:
Warning: the following pictures might trigger your desire to upgrade your current setting with special effects, include a bigger screen or even move to a larger room ;)
Let me introduce you to Steffen’s (aka Akopovic or Ako) gaming paradise. From cozy chairs in front of the TV screen, a very clean desk setup with customized 3D-printed parts to a mirror-foil modded computer case, this room ticks a lot of boxes on the wishlist for most of us. Steffen is 27 years old and lives in Norway. His favorite games, although not played regularly, are Fallout New Vegas, The Witcher 3, Skyrim and Elden Ring. Rimworld is his go-to game at the moment and in the past he has played World of Warcraft - starting back in 2006 (That is 17 years - oh dear. There is a chance some readers might be younger than that :D).
Check out his setup (and don’t miss the GIF at the end for the awesome mirror effect):

What do you like the most about your setup?
For me it's how versatile my setup is. The TV is connected to my pc so whenever I want to chill I just move whatever window over to my TV, switch from headphones to speakers and sit down in the recliner. I can also just put on my VR headset connected wirelessly from my PC and play PCvr games in just 2-3 minutes. If I want to play games on my Switch I just flip the input on my TV and I'm good to go.
What is important to you while working / playing?
I guess what's important to me is that everything just always works and I can trust in the stability of my entire setup (not just the actual computer), and that everything just looks clean and slick 😅
What are you looking forward to? What are the next improvements?
Next purchase is for sure either a new ultrawide monitor, the new OLED's look amazing, or a Herman Miller embody chair (but they're pretty pricey).
What’s next?
A combined gaming and working setup with welcoming background illumination for productive and fun hours - stay tuned!
I just love the minimalistic and cleanliness of this setup. Congrats 👌💯
