No. 7 - Jeremy's WFH and Gaming Setup
The next setup is as unique as it can get as it comes in loaded with DIY hardware: lights, racing simulator and, yes, even a self-made arcade cabinet. But that is not all - read on to see it all.
Jeremy from Cheshire, UK, has a lot to show. At first glance, his desk setup looks clean and well organized, ideal to get stuff done. A really nice setup for itself. But that’s not nearly all. Jeremy works as a technical delivery lead and likes to develop and build gaming and AV related things - and it shows as there is plenty of DIY equipment, peripherals and gadgets to be found in his place.
His favorite games include Elite Dangerous, Asseto Corsa, DCS (flight simulator), Fallout 4, IL2 Sturmovik (another flight simulator) and fighting games in general. He uses Wallpaper Engine and Start 11 for managing the Windows 11 start menu.

What do you like the most about your setup?
I've tried to create a relaxing environment for both work and play by ensuring that I only have the essentials on my desk. Mood is set/enhanced with the lighting which can create a very relaxing space to be in. Having things organised and tidy also creates a sense of calm which helps me to concentrate, particularly when working from home. The fitted office is equipped with a lot of storage which makes keeping everything in order very easy. Any mess is always tidied up each evening to ensure that I get off to a good start the following day. Everything which has been included has been carefully selected from a design and aesthetic perspective and I try to follow themes using colours and shapes. It's also nice to have some greenery around. The view from the window is also fantastic (I'm in the countryside) and is very relaxing; it's good to reconnect with the real world by simply looking outside.
What is important to you while working / playing?
It's great to have the right tools for the job which is why I'm very particular about the things I use. From a gaming perspective, I enjoy designing and building my own solutions such as the racing simulator, arcade cabinet and flight cockpit.
What are you looking forward to? What are the next improvements?
The setup has evolved slowly over the course of a few years to where it is now and, aside from a new case (I'm taken by the Fractal North) and moving plants etc around, it's unlikely that it will change significantly from a visual perspective. From a technology standpoint, there's always something new to look at but I try not to get too drawn in and only replace things where necessary. I am quite meticulous about keeping all my things in good working order and looking and functioning like the day I bought them. Peripherals are cleaned and maintained regularly. For example, mouse mats are washed on a weekly basis (I have several to allow a rotation). The keyboard is cleaned the mouse mouse wiped down with the desk and the peripherals dusted and the plants watered regularly.
What’s next?
Vinyls, collectible figures, quadruple screens and a complete set of ambient room lighting to adapt the color to the current mood on the next issue - make sure to check it out!
